With over 35 years of practice, Tom’s experience in trade law has spanned from the early days of offshoring private-label manufacturing to Mexico and Asia, up to the current drive for onshoring and domestic relocation of manufacturing. Tom’s many loyal clients rely on his broad and lengthy experience that oftentimes allows him to play the role of outside General Counsel for a host of matters including trade disputes, trade remedies, Customs compliance, detentions, Customs audits, foreign and domestic regulated manufacturing facility construction, bonded and regulated warehousing, foreign trade zones, Customs protests and Customs refunds, and related judicial proceedings.
Tom has been named a "Super Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters for over 25 years. He has also been named one of the Top 25 Super Lawyers for business restructuring. Tom is active in the Twin Cities business community. He serves on the Board of Directors of several private businesses and non-profits. Tom is a clinical instructor at the University of St. Thomas Law School. He serves his alma mater on the University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts Internship Board.
