With more than three decades of experience, Joe concentrates on representing companies in high-stakes intellectual property disputes. He has extensive experience with patent litigation-specific proceedings, including claim construction before trial courts throughout the country, at the International Trade Commission, and as special IP counsel in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Joe has represented clients in a variety of industries, including biopharmaceutical, information technology services, cybersecurity, automotive, manufacturing, electronics, and telecommunications.
Joe earned his J.D. from the Harvard Law School, and his A.B., magna cum laude, in history and political science from the University of California, Davis. Following law school, Joe served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judith N. Keep, then the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Before joining Cozen O'Connor, Joe was an intellectual property partner at other Am Law 100 firms and previously served as managing counsel at the Ford Motor Company. Joe currently serves as a Master in the Clifford J. Wallace Inn of Court.
