Christopher focuses his practice on insurance coverage and insurance-related litigation, representing domestic and international insurers in complex first-party and third-party matters. He advises insurers across a wide range of claims, including commercial property damage, general liability, business interruption, cyber, energy, theft, construction, builders' risk, marine, and professional liability.
Chris regularly counsels insurer clients on policy interpretation, claims handling practices, and coverage obligations, including potential bad faith and extracontractual exposure. He also advises on allocation and rights among multiple insurers on shared and layered risks.
In addition to his coverage and litigation practice, Chris has experience advising clients on captive insurance and alternative risk management structures. He has worked with clients in the property and casualty and life insurance sectors on regulatory, tax, corporate, and transactional matters related to captive formation and operation.
Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, Chris practiced at two other Am Law 100 firms, and earlier in his career represented insurers and insureds in coverage disputes and defense litigation involving personal injury, construction defect, and professional liability claims. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif and was an editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. During law school, he also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Wendy Shoob of the Fulton County Superior Court. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
