Kira represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, combining strategic counseling with vigorous defense of workplace disputes. She defends employers in federal and state courts, arbitration proceedings, and before administrative agencies in matters involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, and the FMLA; wage and hour collective and class actions; unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB); trade secret misappropriation claims; and disputes involving employee restrictive covenants. She manages matters through all stages of litigation, from early risk assessment and case strategy through discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, and trial preparation, and has secured dismissals and summary judgment victories on behalf of employers.
Kira also has experience handling matters in the higher education context, including litigation involving public institutions, Title IX claims, and constitutional issues.
In addition to her litigation practice, Kira serves as a trusted advisor to local, national, and international employers on all aspects of the employment relationship. She counsels executives, human resources professionals, and in-house counsel on day-to-day workplace issues, including workplace investigations, performance management, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, reductions in force, hiring practices, policy development, compliance initiatives, employee discipline, and terminations. She drafts and reviews employment-related documents, including employee handbooks, employment agreements, and restrictive covenant agreements, and provides practical, business-focused guidance designed to minimize risk, resolve complex workplace challenges, and support organizational objectives.
Kira also conducts workplace training programs for employers on a variety of employment law topics, including accommodation requests, effective workplace investigations, and harassment and discrimination prevention. She has particular experience advising organizations in high-turnover industries and those with large temporary workforces, and is known for delivering responsive, collaborative, and cost-effective solutions tailored to her clients' needs.
Kira earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Skidmore College, and her J.D., also magna cum laude, from Penn State Law School, where she graduated Order of the Coif and was the Executive Articles Editor of the Penn State Law Review. She also interned for Judge Kim R. Gibson of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and Judge Pamela Ruest of the Centre County Court of Common Pleas.
