Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies Adds Alexandra DeRiso as Principal in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, March 4, 2026 — Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies, the bipartisan government relations and communications affiliate of international law firm Cozen O’Connor, today announced that Alexandra DeRiso has joined the firm as a principal on its health care team.

Alex provides strategic guidance to health care clients across Congress and the executive branch, enabling them to pursue their priorities with clarity and confidence. She takes a client-centered, responsive approach, interpreting regulatory and legislative developments and translating them into actionable items.

Prior to Public Strategies, Alex served as a health policy staffer in both chambers of Congress on Capitol Hill. In the U.S. House of Representatives, Alex was a senior health legislative assistant and counsel to Congressman Troy Balderson (R-OH), a member of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health. She advised on key issues including Medicaid, Medicare, community health centers, Food and Drug Administration regulatory frameworks, and medical technological innovations. Alex was instrumental in navigating the reconciliation process and ensuring the Congressman’s health care priorities were included in The Working Families Tax Cut Act.

During her time in the U.S. Senate, Alex served as a health policy and oversight counsel for the Senate Special Committee on Aging under Senator and Ranking Member Mike Braun (R-IN), advising on Medicare, Medicaid, and other national health programs, and leading oversight and hearing preparations. She previously served as a health policy fellow for Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), where she focused on Medicare policy.

Alex earned her Bachelor of Arts from George Washington University and her Juris Doctor from New England Law, where she was a member of the Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Honors Program. During law school, her work with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the school’s law clinic solidified her commitment to health care advocacy.
