With over 30 years of experience in bankruptcy law, Matt has developed a wealth of experience and knowledge. He has represented debtors and creditors under Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code, as well as numerous creditor committees in Chapter 11 cases. Matt has represented Chapter 7 trustees and other litigants in hundreds of cases over the years. His experience includes providing representation for the Chapter 7 trustee in one of the largest personal bankruptcy cases in Minnesota history.
In addition to his extensive background in bankruptcy law, Matt acts as general counsel for a number of clients, providing them with guidance on a wide variety of legal issues. What Matt enjoys most about his legal practice is the highly practical application of the law it requires, which emphasizes problem solving over litigation.
Matt joined the firm's bankruptcy practice group along with his colleagues from Moss & Barnett in 2026. He earned his B.A. in political science from Penn State University and his J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law.
