Daniel concentrates his practice on labor and employment matters, covering all areas that touch the employer-employee relationship. This includes handling pre-suit claims and tackling litigation when disputes escalate. Beyond advocating for clients during active legal challenges, he also works proactively, offering preventive advice and counseling to help employers avoid legal issues before they arise. To that end, Daniel conducts workplace trainings and leads internal investigations into sensitive workplace matters while working side by side with clients as a partner and trusted advisor. Utilizing his knowledge of the complexities of the ADA, FMLA, PWFA, and state leave laws, Daniel also assists employers in navigating complex leave administration issues and provides guidance on compliance with these interacting laws to develop workable strategies that promote employee retention and reduce legal risk.
Prior to joining the firm, Daniel was a principal in the labor and employment practice of another Am Law 100 firm, where he served as the firm’s Pennsylvania state leave law captain and the Philadelphia office’s mentor champion and summer law clerk coordinator. Before that, he worked for a boutique firm in New Jersey, where he litigated business disputes and employment law matters and also acted as the firm’s human resources manager.
As a former assistant district attorney with the Philadelphia DA’s office, Daniel managed over 100 cases as an appellate and post-conviction relief prosecutor, drafting legal briefs and presenting oral arguments before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania for criminal appeals, including capital homicides. In addition to these duties, he handled a trial caseload, preparing and trying misdemeanor cases and negotiating plea agreements. Daniel also served as law clerk to the Honorable Lee A. Solomon of the New Jersey Supreme Court and the Honorable Gwendolyn Blue of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Division.
Daniel earned his joint J.D./M.P.A. with honors from Syracuse University in 2011. While in law school, he served as the 1L class president, an executive board member of the Moot Court Honors Society, an associate editor for the Syracuse Law Review, and a competing member of the Syracuse Trial Team. He also interned for the Honorable Theodore McKee of the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals and with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. Daniel earned his B.A. in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.
