Jonathan Knipe, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Real Estate Practice, moderated New York Law School’s (NYLS) "25 Years Later: Remembrance, Resilience, and the Future of Lower Manhattan” on September 10, commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11.

As former executive vice president and general counsel of Silverstein Properties, where he spent 15 years and helped advance the rebuilding of the World Trade Center, Jon brought firsthand insight to a discussion about the collaboration that shaped Lower Manhattan’s recovery.

Following opening remarks from NYLS Dean and President Anthony W. Crowell, Jon led a conversation with Carol Kellerman, former executive director of the September 11th Fund; Nancy Lefkowitz, executive vice president of Tribeca Enterprises; Christopher Ward, former executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; and James Whelan, president of the Real Estate Board of New York.

The program explored Lower Manhattan’s recovery and renewal while honoring the enduring significance of September 11. For Jon, who also teaches at NYLS, it connected his work on complex real estate development projects with his commitment to educating the next generation of lawyers.
