Thomas Casparian was quoted in a recent Law360 article examining the future of manufactured housing, offering insight into how federal reforms may spur new housing designs, expanded development opportunities, and greater affordability nationwide. Tom focuses on the newly enacted 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which removes the longstanding chassis requirement for manufactured homes and is expected to reduce costs while increasing design flexibility for developers. He noted that “manufactured homes are not necessarily mobile homes anymore” and that the chassis requirement added “unnecessary weight and design requirements” that increased building and transportation costs. He also emphasized that the reforms could support innovative housing models, including two-story homes, duplexes, and triplexes, and help expand affordable housing options across the country.
