Patrick O’Connor was quoted in a Times Leader article discussing the Chairman’s Society at King’s College, a new initiative he is leading to honor benefactors who have contributed $1 million or more. The Society celebrates those behind some of the most transformative investments on campus. In this article, he comments on his reasons for starting this initiative. “As you know, King’s was founded with the promise to educate the sons of coal miners,” said Patrick. “It did that and much more. As a student at a local high school, I was blessed to have a scholarship to King’s at a time when I did not have the wherewithal to pay tuition. I will never forget their kindness to me.”
