Sarah Krissoff, a member in the firm’s White Collar Defense & Investigations practice, spoke with NPR on July 29 about Deputy AG Blanche’s behind-closed-doors meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime confidant.
“Generally, the line prosecutors who are handling the matter are going to do the interview of somebody who is willing to provide information to the government, even in the most high-profile case," Sarah said, noting how unusual it is for a senior DOJ official to interview a potential cooperating witness. "If the purpose of the interview is to show the American public, 'hey, we're following all these leads, we're seeing if there's any viable case against other individuals,' I think that is undermined by having Blanche do those interviews," she added.
